Why take Art 146 Designing for the www?

I look forward to building a beautiful, easy to navigate website which also holds someone's attention, eg the images will load quickly and show detail and links will work!  At the same time - I am nervous about the mysteries of html, coding, all the lingo I don't get and not being familiar with Dreamweaver.  Hopefully, Dreamweaver CS3 version I have will be good enough.  I should have my graphic design certificate by semester's end and hopefully, can contribute skills learned to some non-profit organization.
